DESCRIPTION: Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., tall clock, 8 days, time with quarter chimes on four bells and hour striking on cathedral gong, triple weight driven movement in a quarter sawn carved oak case with beveled trunk door glass and carved and turned full columns flanking hood. The brass dial has applied cast brass spandrels and engraved dial center, a silvered chapter ring with applied brass numerals and moon phase, c1900
CONDITION: the case retains its original finish, nicely rubbed down to a matte appearance. There are vertical ages splits to front and each side of base. The escutcheon is absent for hood door. The dial, brass weights and pendulum are slightly tarnished. The movement is the same as in the Hall Clock No. 22 as pictured in Tran Duy Ly's "Seth Thomas Clocks and Movements" page 188. Ht 93"
